One of the best things about the game is still its style: not only does the unique visual style of the game stand out, but the voice-acting for almost all the CNU characters is actually provided by the actors who played the roles on TV, too.Īs mentioned before in our preview, the first few hours of play take place in a future where Planet Fusion is winning the war, and it's up to players to work with other characters to get a time machine working that will send them back in time in order to stop the invasion before it gets out of control. The story itself is still the same as before: players are recruited to help combat the forces of Planet Fusion before it absorbs the planet facing off against dark clones of allies like Dexter, the Powerpuff Girls, and Samurai Jack. if there was ever a character made to help prevent the end of the Cartoon Network Universe, Courage seems like a prime choice.
That said, though, one can't help but feel a little sad that characters like Johnny Bravo and Courage the Cowardly Dog have yet to make an appearance. By providing a mix of platforming and MMORPG combat/leveling, as well as a story that will most likely appeal to the vast majority of Cartoon Cartoons fans, though, the game is actually surprisingly fun.Īs embarrassing as it is to admit, I've always been a fan of the vast majority of Cartoon Network's original series, so I still find myself charmed by the idea of fighting alongside many of the characters I've watched over the years.
